This journey goes upstream from Budapest, Hungary's lively capital, to Nuremberg through four European countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany) and three capital cities (Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna).
The cruising on the Danube and the Rhine-Main-Danube canal includes the most beautiful stretches of river with varied landscapes such as the ‘knee' of the Danube at Visegrad in Hungary, Austria's picturesque Wachau district (steeped in legends), and the Schlögener loops in the Danube approaching Passau; we also see the imposing cathedral of Esztergom in Hungary and the Benedictine abbey of Melk in Austria. Other highlights are a visit to Salzburg, the city of music, and the spectacular man-made waterway - the Rhine-Main-Danube canal.
