AMADEUS Queen launched in Amsterdam
The name says it all: the AMADEUS Queen, Lüftner Cruises’ latest ship, was formally christened on 4 April 2018 in Amsterdam and has now taken to Europe’s rivers as a true queen.
The new ship received its name in front of almost 200 guests in the usual familiar setting. Corina Lüftner, the youngest daughter of Martina and Dr Wolfgang Lüftner who lead the company, took on godparent duties. The short cruise along the Dutch waterways immediately following the christening gave important sales partners the opportunity to test the many amenities of the new ship for themselves.
The AMADEUS Queen, the Austrian cruise company’s 15th river vessel, continues the company's focus on high-quality river cruises in Europe:
“This special new ship once again shows that a mere copy of a successful concept is not enough for us. The well-being of our guests is our top priority and this also includes constant further development in terms of design and functionality. It is safe to say that the AMADEUS Queen is one of the best riverboat in Europe at present”, says Martina Lüftner, founder and managing director of Lüftner Cruises, with conviction. Just a few weeks ago, the cruise company announced the next new ship for 2019.
The new ship is based on the award-winning AMADEUS Silver ships model but offers many innovations. A new highlight on board is the AMADEUS Club at the stern, which is characterised by an elegant yacht club atmosphere and has an indoor pool, the roof over which can be opened in good weather. The new reception area, an atrium entirely made of glass, is also an innovative design gem. The concept of spacious cabins was retained: 12 large suites captivate with an accessible exterior balcony and a cosy reading corner, a large majority of the 69 standard cabins have automatically drop-down panoramic window fronts and luxurious bathrooms.
On more than 15 catalogue departures, guests of the AMADEUS Queen are able to go on fascinating journeys of discovery on Europe’s most scenic rivers: the program includes the Tulip Cruise in the Spring (from €1,549), the traditional Danube cruise from/to Passau (from €1,629) as well as the outstanding 15 day “Across Europe” cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest (from €3,449).
