In the morning, your golfing experience begins at the renowned BOTANIQ Máriavölgyi Golf Club, set in the picturesque Etyek wine region. Nestled among gentle hills and vineyards, this course is considered one of Hungary’s most beautiful golf facilities. Shortly before dinner, your floating hotel reaches Esztergom, where you rejoin the ship. During dinner, your AMADEUS vessel then sets course for Slovakia, accompanied by atmospheric views along the Danube.

BOTANIQ Máriavölgyi Golf Club

East of Hungary’s capital, Budapest, the BOTANIQ Máriavölgyi Golf Club is set in an idyllic valley bordering the historic Etyek wine region. The 18-hole championship course was designed by renowned Austrian golf architect Hans G. Erhardt and opened in 1996. Eight holes are enhanced by strategically placed water hazards, adding to the course’s challenge. In particular, the doglegs on holes 9 and 11, as well as the demanding pin positions on the undulating greens, require tactical play and precision. Thanks to the well-balanced combination of mature vegetation, water hazards and bunkers, this meticulously maintained course offers golfers of all skill levels a varied and high-quality playing experience.

With its historic old town, imposing castle and vibrant café culture, Bratislava reveals itself as a city of surprising diversity. Today’s excursion takes you to the Penati Golf Resort near the town of Senica—a true highlight for golf enthusiasts. Set amid spectacular scenery, the resort is home to Europe’s longest hole, measuring an impressive 716 metres and featuring eleven tee positions. Late in the evening, you depart Slovakia and continue your journey towards Austria.

Located in the picturesque Záhorie region near the town of Senica, Penati Golf Resort ranks among Central Europe’s most outstanding golf destinations. The resort features two distinct 18-hole courses: the Legend Course, opened in 2012, and the Heritage Course, inaugurated in 2013. Spanning 95 hectares, the expansive Legend Course was designed by Nicklaus Design. Undulating fairways, strategically placed bunkers and varied tee positions create a wide range of challenges and demand thoughtful course management. Among the course’s unmistakable signature holes are the legendary 15th hole—measuring an impressive 716 metres and recognised as the longest hole in Europe—as well as the spectacular finishing hole, where a narrow green played towards an island-style target provides a thrilling and visually stunning finale.

Before breakfast, you arrive in the magnificent former imperial capital of Vienna. Amid grand Ringstrasse architecture, traditional coffee houses and a world-renowned musical heritage, Austria’s capital reveals its unmistakable charm. Vienna also delights golf enthusiasts with outstanding courses in its surroundings. You will experience this first-hand in the morning with a visit to the Fontana Golf Club, located around 30 kilometres from the city. After dinner, enjoy the atmospheric concert “Sound of Vienna”, featuring musical highlights of Viennese classical music and providing a particularly festive conclusion to the evening. Late at night, you depart Vienna and continue your journey towards the Wachau Valley.

An unforgettable golfing experience awaits at the Fontana Championship Golf Course, located around 30 kilometres south of Vienna. Set amid expansive natural surroundings, the course offers impressive views of Mount Schneeberg and the foothills of the Vienna Woods. The routing and course design were created by renowned Canadian golf architect Doug Carrick, whose masterful layout delivers a challenging yet fair course of international top-class standard. Opened in 1996, the 18-hole championship course (par 72) ranks among Europe’s leading golf courses. Strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, complemented by a selection of more relaxed holes, ensure variety and sporting challenges at the highest level.

In the morning, your AMADEUS ship docks in Dürnstein, a picturesque wine village renowned far beyond its borders for its excellent wines. During a guided walking tour, you will have the opportunity to soak up the town’s historic atmosphere and enjoy a tasting of selected local wines. At midday, your ship continues its journey towards Melk. High above the Danube rises Melk Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with a history spanning more than 900 years and regarded as Austria’s largest Baroque monastic complex. Its magnificent architecture and fascinating insights into a rich and eventful past make this visit a cultural highlight of your journey. In the evening, your ship departs the Wachau Valley and sets course for Linz.

A hike up to the Veste Oberhaus, majestically perched on St. George’s Hill, rewards you with spectacular views. This impressive fortress ranks among the largest preserved castle complexes in Europe and offers a breathtaking panorama over Passau’s old town and the surrounding river landscape. Alternatively, golf enthusiasts may opt for another round at the Golf and Country Club Regensburg. Back on board, a traditional Bavarian evening awaits you, complete with lively music and typical regional dishes—providing a convivial and flavourful finale to your eventful day.

Regensburg Golf Club (optional)

The Golf and Country Club Regensburg is set amid the lush foothills of the Bavarian Forest, offering spectacular views over the Danube Valley. With a tree population some of which is over 300 years old, the course evokes the atmosphere of classic English parkland golf courses. The historic clubhouse was built in 1885 as a hunting lodge for the Princes of Thurn and Taxis. Within this impressive landscape, renowned golf architect Donald Harradine originally designed nine holes in 1968, which were expanded to 18 holes in 1981. Between 1999 and 2002, the course was modernised by Thomas Himmel to create today’s contemporary 18-hole layout. The gently undulating course, featuring strategically placed water hazards, offers a challenging yet rewarding round of golf, combined with an atmosphere of tranquillity and relaxation.
